This is a VERY nice watercolor. It is in the manner of Fred Pansing, I co not know his work well enough to know if it is by him and it is not signed. He did multiple paintings of the Potsdam. The painting is 15" x 20" and may have been reduced in size. That is speculation on my part. If so, I hope someone did not cut off a signature. There is writing on the reverse stating it dates to 1890, but the Potsdam did not launch until 1899 and was renamed after being captured by the Germans in 1914. This is well executed and with only very minor staining as can be seen with using the eBay magnifying tool to look at the picture. Email me with questions!
I am a old school wholesaler dealer and scour GA and New England for the best to buy for my customers. I am also the founder of WorthPoint and would encourage all to visit it if you want to research antique prices.I focus on happy repeat customers and love what I do and try to ensure all customers are happy. I do not stay glued to my computer and have a real job so please do not expect instantaneous answers. Consider your source when buying. I have sold over 11,000 items on eBay and have 99.9% positive feedback.
I charge GA sales tax to GA residents. I specialize in paper, photos , coins and militaria. I sell about anything except reproductions. If it is not old, I say so. If there is a defect, I also say so. If you know more than me about something, that is OK, as I do not mind learning or being told that I am wrong and strive for accuracy. You can always learn more in this business. If I make a mistake, and we all do, I will take responsibility for it and you can return the item.
If buying internationally, email me for final postage if you are the winner. eBay's quoted postage tends to be too high for a 1st class envelope. Also I make a full declaration of sales value, thus please do not ask or expect otherwise.
