Vtg. Large Original Impressionistic California Seascape Watercolor by Giacomelli

Presented here is
a terrific vintage impressionistic seascape watercolor painting, signed Giacomelli, and titled "Asilomar Beach".  The image features a close-up view of turbulent waves at Asilomar Beach, near Monterey, California.  The image was painted on a heavyweight watercolor paper, and is signed by the artist near the lower right corner of the image.  On the back in the lower right corner of the paper, the artist has written "Giaccomelli", "Asilomar Beach" (the title), and "December 15, 1995" (the date of the painting's creation).  The painted image measures 16" tall x 20" wide, on a paper sheet measuring 18" x 22 1/2", with margins in which the artist tested the paint colors used in the piece.  The condition of this piece is very good; it appears to have been matted at some point in the past with a mat window well inside the actual image dimensions, as a very faint mat line shows within the image.  Also, although the face of the painting is clean, the back of the thick paper shows some toning and spotting from age.  This is an altogether beautiful depiction of ocean waves, skillfully rendered, and is sure to look beautiful no matter where it is displayed!
