Christmas night. A sketch made for the
triptych
altarpiece in Hoerby Church 1948 (see last photo) in Jutland, near Hobro. Josef, Mary, and baby Jesus in the manger with four shepherds, an ox, and a donkey.
Rud-Petersen was educated from the
Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts 1888-92.
In the period
1901-1907
he attended the Art School of
Kristian Zahrtmann
several times.
Rud-Petersen
is a well-known artist, who made several altar pieces. Represented at many museums. In 2010 one of his paintings
sold for USD
1.894
at Christies's London.
