Rare Painting by Famous Listed Artist Qigu "Sy" Jiang signed and dated 1990.
Intentionally unframed and designed to be displayed this way. Excellent condition.
An early painting in the same year he graduated the Art Institute of Chicago in the US in 1990.
Titled: 6 "Pursuit"
Has name, address and phone # on the back of canvas.
Measures 18" x 24".
A very rare early "Sy" painting to find.
Note: 1st picture is in brighter light, 2nd picture is in lower light. The colors change drastically in different lighting situations. I provided several close-ups to see the unique parts and brush strokes of this painting.

Qigu “Sy” Jiang was born in Shanghai in 1956. Originally studied in Shanghai in the traditional style of social realism, he was then transferred to a different schedule of courses concerned with the more aesthetic, less politicized, study of traditional Chinese ink brush painting. Jiang developed his skills in the terrain of Chinese tradition. Received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Shanghai Normal University in 1983, moved to Chicago in 1987 and received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1990. Has gallery showings in the US and abroad, an adjunct Associate Professor of Art in the Department of Painting and Drawing as well as the Department of Art History, Theory and Criticism in the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
