FOR SALE...or best offer
This sale is for a 1985 oil painting by Ken Wesman of the 6th U.S. Senior Open Championships at Edgewood Golf Course at Lake Tahoe, Stateline, Nevada. The champion was Miller Barber, finishing 3 under par.  I was told this painting once hung in the clubhouse at Edgewood. We purchased it some years ago when it was donated to a charitable organization...perhaps Edgewood was remodeling or updating their display of artwork.  The painting is very large...60" wide, 44" tall. I believe the painting to be in excellent condition although one might think the paint is chipping in areas mostly seen on Barber...I just think it was the artist's style not to completely coverup the background color. I've tried studying his other work which mostly comprises athletes. Zoom in on my photos please and make your own determination.
Miller Barber (born in 1931, passed away in 2013) was significantly successful on the PGA Tour in the 1960's & 70's. However, he had greater success on the Senior PGA Tour (now called the Champions Tour). He had 24 wins on the tour including 5 senior majors, 3 of which were U.S. Senior Opens. He first won the U.S. Senior Open in 1982 (Arnold Palmer won in 1981). His next win was in 1984 (Palmer was runner up). Barber then won again in 1985. Barber holds the record for most wins (3) in the Senior Open (Jack Nicklaus has 2).
Artist Ken Wesman was born in Canada in 1936.  He was commissioned to do 7 official paintings for the 1988 Olympic
Winter Games in Calgary. He also exhibited Olympic Summer Games in Seoul. Four images are in both Olympic Halls of Fame. I cannot find information on his whereabouts. Is he still living?
