Etienne Adolphe Piot (1825-1910) was a French painter who specialized in portraits of ladies and young
girls depicted in an elegant, romanticized style. He exhibited at the Paris Salon throughout the latter
half of the nineteenth century until 1909. His work is represented in the permanent collections of the
Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen and the Brooklyn Museum, New York.
The original of this painting was sold at Sotheby's New York in January 2012 for ,500
