B-24D LIBERATOR ORIGINAL MONOGRAM MODELS BOX TOP STUDIO FINE ART PAINTING 1976Signed by ARTIST: Don Greer
This is a beautiful fine art original painting in
air-brush and
acrylic
on cold-press illustration board.
This painting was custom made for a plastic model kit box cover by well known artist Don Greer
for the now defunct Monogram Models co.in Morton Grove, IL. Mr. Greer was a very talented artist that
painted mostly dramatic and accurate aircraft artwork subjects for Revell and
Monogram
Models throughout the 70's and 80's.
This subject is a WWII era B-24D Liberator from the 90th Bomb Group of the 5th Airforce on a South Pacific carpet bombing run about to be attacked by Zero fighters.
This painting is
large 18
" X 29" image size.
Painting is in nice condition and is still very vibrant, has incredible details and colors and looks fantastic! I will note there is some crease damage from improper storage but is hard to see unless you know where the crease is. I feel this painting could be touched up to repair it and none framed under glass it would look fine. Because of this I am offering it at a discounted price.
See pictures for details.
This painting as well as all others in my collection are guaranteed Vintage Original and Authentic. Please check back often for other vintage paintings I am listing over the next few months.
Original paintings like this that are
signed
by the artist are few and now a much sought after item.
Sadly, most of these original paintings were destroyed throughout the years and are now sought after collector items.
I have had this painting stored in my collection for many years and now am downsizing so I am passing it along to someone else who will treasure it as I have. There are
VERY
few of these model paintings left as companies
typically
destroyed
the
original after print films were made.
I have shown a picture of the actual model kit production box
the painting was originally used for. The box top photo is for ref. only and is NOT included in this listing,
This is a very rare
opportunity
for any serious
aviation
enthusiasts to add to his art collection with it's large gallery size. In very displayable condition for it's 45+yr.
age. Would look absolutely stunning in an
office, den
or hobby display room, Aviation gallery or a military themed collection.
