Antique Oil On Mahogany Panel Painting CAVALIER King Charles Dogs Family Bath

Description

This is a very old oil painting.  Done in oil on a mahogany panel, it has a layer of varnish over the paint which has darkened over the decades.  We get 57 sunny days a year in Pittsburgh so I used one of them for these photos which lightens up the work.  Featuring a family of Cavalier King Charles spaniels and a tub, it must be BATH DAY.  Looking at the background with the red steps, stucco walls and flowers, I'm guessing this was painted in France.  I can't find a signature but this looks like a labor of love.  The panel measures almost 12" wide and 9.5" tall.  The frame adds 1" with an antique gold finish.  There are two small chips to the paint above the flower pot but I see no other condition issues.  Getting one German Shepherd to sit still is a tall order for me so these four must be well behaved spaniels!  Please see all of the photos as they are a big part of the description.
