This is a wonderful Antique California Plein Air Impressionist Oil Painting Landscape on canvas, depicting what I believe is Red Rock Canyon in Kern County, California. This work is signed in the lower right corner: “M.N. Delfeld” and dated “1954.” Perhaps you know more about this artist? Approximately 11 3/4 x 19 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 9 1/8 x 16 1/8 inches. In this painting you can see a desertscape, with sparse green foliage and rocky outcropping a against a pale blue sky. It really is wonderful. Some light craquelure, minor paint loss and edge wear due to age. Acquired from an old estate in Southern California. I have another painting by this artist in my listings as well.
