    Description

Always Aretha: acrylic on gallery wrapped museum quality canvas created by Kriss Sullivan. Whst a besutiful and powerful voice. One of my favorite arists of all time. Her light went out only days before the SoulFest in Waterbury, CT. I felt compelled to capture her on my canvas. Why the plain white dress? A simple white dress can be found across the ages. I wanted her to remain as timeless as she truly is. As for the yellow rose, only a true fan would understand that.  Certificate of Authenticity: Provides evidence that you possess this original piece of artwork. This becomes of great value as the years go on and Press's paintings gain in value. It will list the title, year created, dimensions, medium and artists name. Will be signed by the artist. Kriss has works hanging in several European countries, the USA and Japan. His paintings are collected globally. Kriss Sullivan has been creating art since he was 5yrs old, at first for friends and relatives. At age 5 he used to draw pictures of pop culture comics. He soon turned to the environment and began drawing in a realistic manner. At age 19 he started getting paid to create portraits. After showing his works at various locations and exhibits throughout New York and New England. Kriss began to focus on 3D paintings which could only be viewed with Chromadepth glasses. His pieces were featured at Timexpo Museum as well as the Mattatuck Museum. The show, called ‘Second Site’, at first seemed mundane until visitors donned the glasses and found themselves in a 3D world which seemed like one could reach out and touch it. After breaking away from art rooted in extreme realism, Kriss now welcomes new and more abstract forms of art in which he creates whole new worlds. He works with different mediums in colorful, vibrant, and abstract styles. This change has gained him recognition in the European Market, as well as Australia, Japan and Southern California. He will be exhibiting with PAKS Gallery in Castle Hubertendorf in Austria and at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, France. Not all of Kriss’s paintings reside in the USA; he has collectors hanging his portraits in Naples, Italy, Canada and as far away as Japan. Over the years he has been pushing to dedicate himself to art more completely and has finally begun to create a realm of his own within the art world. He likes to think of his work as somewhere between abstract, realism, and surrealism. 2015 Sal E Pepe Restaurant, Newtown, CT - Pop Up Gallery Carrousel d Louvre in Paris France Castle Hubertendorf in Austria 2014 Carlito's Restaurant, Woodbury, CT - Permanent Exhibition Woodbury Ski Area, Woodbury, CT - Permanent Exhibition 2013 Timexpo Museum, Permanent Exhibition 3D Paintings Mattatuck Museum, Jazz Nights, Waterbury, CT Greater Waterbury Arts Show, Waterbury, CT The Gathering, Waterbury, CT dailypaintworks 2012 Laguna Art Group www.Lagunaart.com/KrissSullivan 2011 "Color Every Day" Cheshire Public Spaces, Cheshire, CT USA 2009 "Drawing You" Hampton Inn, Middlebury, CT USA 2008 "Drawing You" Hampton Inn, Middlebury, CT USA "Ocean Daze" The Court Yard Marriott, Waterbury, CT USA 2007 "Black and White" Artistic License Gallery, Waterbury, CT USA "Drawing You" 4 Points Sheraton, Waterbury, CT USA 2006 "Wow, What a Pencil" Artistic License Gallery, Waterbury, CT USA "Drawing You" 4 Points Sheraton, Waterbury, CT USA "Our Soldiers Who Serve" Terryville Town Hall, Plymouth, CT USA 2005 "The World's Children" Artistic License Gallery, Waterbury, CT USA "Our Soldiers Who Serve" Terryville Town Hall, Plymouth, CT USA 2004 "Faces" Artistic License Gallery , Waterbury, CT USA "Our Soldiers Who Serve" Terryville Town Hall, Plymouth, CT USA 1993 "Portrait Art" Lasting Likeness, Waterbury, CT USA 1992 "Portrait Art" Lasting Likeness, Waterbury, CT USA 1991 "Portrait Art" Lasting Likeness, Waterbury, CT USA 1990 "Portrait Art" Lasting Likeness, Waterbury, CT USA 1984 "Kriss Sullivan" Silas Bronson Library, Waterbury, CT USA Group Exhibitions 2013 "The Gathering" Waterbury, CT 2012 "Salon Show" Greenpoint Gallery, Brooklyn, NY 2007 "Permanent Exhibit" Artistic License Gallery, Waterbury, CT 2006 "Waterbury's 1st Annual Art Show" Waterbury, CT USA "Art for a Cause" 4 Points Sheraton, Waterbury, CT USA "Permanent Exhibit" Artistic License Gallery, Waterbury, CT 2005 "Permanent Exhibit" Artistic License Gallery, Waterbury, CT 2004 "Permanent Exhibit" Artistic License Gallery, Waterbury, CT 1997 "Kent Art Contest" Kent, CT USA 1993 "Nutmeg Artists Permanent Exhibition" Plymouth, CT USA 1992 "Watertown Street Festival" Watertown, CT USA 1988 "We The Artists" Saint Agnes Church, Waterbury, CT USA 1986 RE\ADS Graphic Designer 1985 RE\ADS Graphic Designer 1984 RE\ADS Graphic Designer Public Art Projects 2001 The Immaculate Conception Plymouth, CT 2007 The Exchange Place Waterbury, CT 2012 Waterbury Youth Services E-Program 2012 Boys and Girls Club of America Waterbury, CT 2012 Brazas Restaurant, Waterbury, CT 2013 Mural - The Olive Oil Factory, Waterbury, CT Mural - Settaro Motors, Waterbury, CT Private Collectors Edi Fallon, New Preston, CT USA Achille Donadeo, Napoli, Italy Unknown, Plymouth, CT USA Kenneth Padula, Wolcott, CT USA Naohisa Honda, Japan
