Description

Up for sale is an Alexis Bury, Surrealist Oil Painting on Masonite Board (Belgium) (1983)! It depicts a nude woman sitting in the window of a cemetery being painted by painter below with a castle and mountain dotted land at the skyline in the background. There is a note on back in Dutch that reads: Laat je geest geen speelplaats worden van dulvelse wellusten (English translation: Don't let your mind become a playground for dull lusts). It measures 34 3/4" tall, 31" wide, and 1 3/4" deep on the outside of the frame. The piece is in excellent overall condition with minor signs of wear consistent with its age and use (some scattered light surface wear to painting and frame).
