Description
10 CFM Deliquescent Air Dryer, Van Air Systems D410 CFM Deliquescent Air Dryer, Van Air Systems D4
The D4 is a simple deliquescent compressed air dryer for 10 CFM. The dryer is frequently paired with a 2.5 horsepower air compressor. The D4 is constructed of welded carbon steel and has an ASME Code pressure vessel certification. The D4 has no moving parts or power requirement and is often used as a point-of-use dryer to protect a paint booth, blast cabinet, or pneumatic tool from the harmful effects of wet compressed air.
How the D4 works.
The D4 consists of an epoxy lined ASME Code certified tank filled with Dry-O-Lite desiccant tablets. These tablets act as sponges for humidity, soaking up water vapor. Wet compressed air enters the bottom of the D4 and flows up through the Dry-O-Lite. The tablets gradually dissolve into a liquid. The liquid collects at the bottom of the tank to be drained. Dry compressed air exits the top of the dryer. No moving parts. No power requirement.
An
F200-25-1/2-B-MD-PD6
or equivalent filter should be installed immediately after the dryer to remove oil mist and particulates.
Installation.
Simply attach the dryer a wall and connect air lines. Fill the tank with Dry-O-Lite and connect a drain line.
Maintenance.
Drain liquid after each 8 hours of operation. A manual ball valve is included. Pro tip: use flexible tubing to collect the liquid in a container. Consider installing a
MDV-400 automatic drain with a 1/2" valve
. Every 2-3 months inspect the Dry-O-Lite level by looking thru the sight glass on the side of the tank. Top off the tank with new Dry-O-Lite tablets as necessary. Dry-O-Lite is non-toxic and non-hazardous.
